Overview
A kind family on the Upper East Side is seeking a full-time live-out family assistant/nanny for their household. The schedule will be Monday through Friday with a guarantee of 43 hours per week. The schedule would be 8am-5pm/6pm. There are two children ages 2-years-old and 4-years-old. The children are in school from 8am-2:30pm Monday through Thursday for the eldest child with an early release from school on Fridays, and from 8:30am-11:30am Monday through Friday for the youngest child. While the children are in school is when the bulk of family assistant duties would be completed. The role starts as soon as possible.
Responsibilities
Specific duties to be negotiated with the family, but in general, the candidate to hire will be responsible for;
- Providing nurturing care and interacting in a fun, stimulating, and age-appropriate way with both of the children when they are home
- Working alongside the Mother with household tasks when the children are in school
- School drop off and pick up
- Light housekeeping (apartment is 1,200 sq. ft. with 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms)
- Basic meal prep (meal prep is not super involved, family does delivery service so candidate follows the meal instructions provided). If candidate enjoys cooking it is a bonus.
- Family laundry
- Ordering supplies for the home
- Running errands for the family

- A driver’s license would be preferred (no city driving expected), but not required for this role
Requirements
- A minimum of 2 years experience as a nanny, 3-5 years preferred in NYC
- A well-suited demeanor for working with toddlers and school age children
- Exceptional childcare references that attest to strong communication skills, reliability, punctuality, maturity and high emotional intelligenceEducation or equivalent knowledge of ages and stages of child growth and development
- Ability to commit for a minimum of 1+ year(s) for the family
- Readiness to help with light housekeeping and all tasks related to the home (meal prep, organizing, laundry, etc.)
- Ability to assist as needed with miscellaneous family errands and tasks
- Flexibility for domestic travel with advance notice as needed (infrequent domestic trips, summers are live-in during the week)
- A professional appearance
Examples of additional qualifications which are preferred, but not required, include:
- Training and certifications such as early childhood education, defensive driving, water safety certification, special needs, etc.
- Other skills include driving, swimming, cooking, sports, the arts, etc.
- Driver's license with clean driving record
