Overview
A lovely principal in the process of purchasing a property in the south of France (likely within 1hr of Cannes) seeks a professional and experienced Domestic Couple for her new home.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities will be many and varied, and will likely include (but not be limited to):
- All aspects of housekeeping for the interior of the property, including general cleaning and tidying, deep cleaning, silver cleaning, French polishing
- All laundry and ironing
- Maintaining gardens using mowers, trimmers etc
- Maintaining paths, driveways and other hard landscaped areas
- Ensuring outdoor furniture and other decorative elements are clean and maintained
- Running errands as needed
- Occasional driving, and any vehicle maintenance
- Oversight of the main property in the principal's absence: maintaining lights and fixtures throughout the property. Minor plumbing, repair painting and other handyman tasks, checking security and alarm systems and performing minor household repairs
- Receiving deliveries
- Preparing healthy, fresh meals for the principal
- Grocery shopping
- Taking care of guests/visitors as needed
- Possible occasional travel with the principal
Requirements
- Considerate, kind, positive and friendly personalities
- A flexible approach to the role - hours will be longer and the position more intense when the principal is in situ (for up to 3 months at a time)
- Happy to work in a relatively informal atmosphere, but with a consistently professional attitude
- Pitch-in mentality and very much a 'can-do' approach
- Fluent in English and preferably French
- Local knowledge would be preferred
- Extremely competent in all aspects of the role - housekeeping, cooking, driving and maintenance
- Available from January 2025 onwards
- EU passport
- Experience in security or working as a bodyguard would be particularly appreciated
