Dear Hiring Team,
Let’s skip the preamble — this is the kind of role I’ve spent my life preparing for. I’ve managed the chaos that comes with constant travel. I’ve been the calm in the middle of the storm. I’ve packed and unpacked lives across time zones, negotiated on the fly, wrangled wardrobes, handled the sensitive, and stepped up before being asked.
I currently work as a Travelling Executive Assistant and Private PA to a luxury hotelier, splitting time between the UK and Japan while overseeing everything from household logistics to international events. I’ve managed diaries that move by the hour, handled wardrobe coordination across seasons and climates, prepped properties before arrival, and chased lost luggage in three languages — all while keeping business running, pets fed, and guests happy. I’ve done this work at altitude, backstage, in hotel lobbies, and out of the boot of a car. And I do it all quietly, because discretion isn’t something I switch on — it’s the default setting.
Before this, I helped launch a medical school from scratch. That means I’ve built systems, processes, and entire operational frameworks out of nothing. I’ve worked with senior leadership who never had a PA before — so I know how to build trust, anticipate needs, and become indispensable without making noise.
My background is in Astrophysics, which taught me how to hold complex systems in my head, stay calm under pressure, and solve problems without drama. It’s given me the ability to map out moving parts quickly — whether that’s syncing an international itinerary with children’s commitments, or planning a three-city wardrobe pull without disrupting a single meeting.
But more than any qualification, it’s lived experience that makes me right for this role. I’ve looked after deaf cats, three high-energy dogs, and high-stakes principals. I’ve worked on-call without complaint, booked flights from tarmacs, planned dinners from car parks, and handled personal requests with the kind of trust that only gets earned over time.
I don’t just travel well — I move well. I integrate. I adapt. I can be front-facing or invisible, hands-on or in the background. I work across cultures, across time zones, and across expectations. And I show up with purpose, every single day.
This isn’t a job I want to do — it’s a life I already live. Let’s talk about how I can bring it all to your principal.
Best wishes,
Hemma Dowlutta
