My name is James McNamee and I am a 29 year American Chef with over 10 years of experience in the restoration field. I was born in Connecticut and graduated from the Culinary Institute of America in 2016. After a year cooking at the Rainbow Room in NYC, I traveled to Paris to work alongside Michelin Starred Chefs such as Sylvestre Walid and Alain Ducasse. I was also able to start a brief Private Chef career during Covid which slowly began to shape the career I have ventured towards with great confidence after I was published in 2 Forbes Magazine Articles. After 3 and a half successful years, I came back to the US and became a Chef de Cuisine for Jean-George’s at JoJo at which time I was then approached by a Private Chef Agency to work for a UHNW family in Manhattan. This experience was incredible and opened my eyes to the beauty and respectful art of Private Chef where I produced Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner for as many as 65 guests. I am now located in Connecticut and am willing to travel across the United States and potentially abroad to work with short term or contractual Private Chef opportunities. My philosophy on cooking begins with procuring the finest ingredients with the regional products as well as, to work closely with the principle(s) to dietary needs and cuisine type(s).
