About
Dear Potential Family,
I am pleased to introduce myself and to offer my CV in consideration for the role as your family’s nanny.
A little bit about me: I became a nanny based on my love of childcare and my passion for facilitating engaging,
educational, and healthy lifestyle habits and activities for children. With almost 25 years of experience, I have found much success in doing so on account of my kind and mature disposition, exceptional organisational and communication skills, and of course, a sense of humour. I am a big believer in outdoor time versus screen time, which encourages important experimentation and exploration. Whether a nanny role has been local or required international and domestic travel, I pride myself on promoting enriching experiences for my charges that include playdates, museums, parks, messy play, and self-care, all to develop life skills during which children learn by doing.
My philosophy as a caregiver is to guide children rather than provide an immediate or instantly gratifying solution. This method can sometimes result in a “two steps forward, one step back” temporary outcome, but I believe that respecting them as a person is a vital investment to their worth as a human. With each position, I aim to reinforce the parents’ understanding that there are natural consequences for learning - to make mistakes and learn from them! With that said, while no two people provide care the same way, it is imperative to ensure that our styles mesh well and complement each other to create the continuity that children desire and deserve.
A Few of my Strengths:
Adaptable: able to pivot priorities while maintaining a positive attitude and strong work ethic
Communicative: comfortable liaising with people at all levels and logically relaying messages to discuss the progress of the child(ren) with the parents, other family members, medical personnel, and teachers
Collaborative: happy to partner with parents to raise their children, helping them to become individuals that other people want to be around. While at the same time being able to take full charge care as needed.
Creative: able to facilitate sensory activities and engage children in enrichment activities based on their interests
Health Conscious: an advocate of self-care and clean eating, I can prepare allergy-friendly, healthy, fresh, homemade from scratch meals for the child(ren) or family.
Growing up on a farm in North Central Iowa instilled the ideals of self-reliance and ingenuity in me. I can
‘MacGyver’ repairs and creates a hack to solve many simple problems. I believe that everything can be a learning opportunity - many children (and their parents) enjoy the fun of learning these applicable skills! Previous employer families say I am a professional, knowledgeable, and caring nanny. Colleagues would share that I am also compassionate and dedicated in both my personal and professional life. I consider myself a resourceful, loyal, and self-motivated team player type of individual. I look forward to discussing how my qualifications and expertise can help serve your family, so please be in touch with any questions at all.
All the best,
Kelsey M. Heitz
