About
My name is Lara Alptekin and I am a graduate of UC Santa Barbara and the Culinary Institute of America. My enthusiasm to work in this field stems from my most recent experiences as a private and personal chef. Cooking a variety of cuisines, creating unique personal connections, and the attention to detail I have cultivated thus far motivate me to continue in the world of private dining.
Some of my recent accomplishments include:
- Planning and executing a corporate event for 100 guests, encompassing passed appetizers and a plated 3-course meal with oversight of 10 service staff and accommodations of unexpected requests in two days;
- Completing an externship at the Michelin-starred French cuisine restaurant La Toque, and continuing on as a Line Cook at the request of Chef Ken Frank;
- Graduating Magna Cum Laude from University of California, Santa Barbara with a Bachelor’s of Arts in Global Studies and a minor in French.
As I have gained experience in the realm of private dining, I am eager to partner with a household that loves delicious and nourishing food as much as I do. In doing so, I am confident that with my proven time management, work ethic, leadership, and interpersonal skills accumulated from a variety of positions, I will be an effective resource for the Principal(s) and the values they support.
