About
As a childcare professional with experience across a range of ages and developmental needs, I believe my nurturing, creative, and outdoorsy approach would be a perfect fit for your family.
Throughout my 6 year career, I’ve worked closely with children at different milestones, from helping a 12-month-old through baby-led weaning, to supporting children with autism.
In both cases, I combined patience, structured routines, and fun. I plan hands-on activities to create a calm, reassuring environment. My philosophy is “connection before correction,” ensuring the child feels understood and confident while learning new skills.
Key Highlights of My Experience
• Child Development: At Sir Alexander Fleming Primary, I lead a special educational needs (SEN) provision classroom, using tailored strategies and flexible planning to help children overcome challenges and achieve daily goals.
• Encouraging Independence: I’ve supported children through milestones such as phasing out naps and weaning. For example, removing a midday nap for a toddler helped them sleep longer overnight, a gentle but impactful change that the parents greeted with open arms.
• Outdoor & Creative Play: Raised on a farm, I’m no stranger to outdoor adventures or animal care. Treasure hunts, exploring nature trails, and sensory play are staples in my work. I love arts and crafts, too—although I readily admit glitter can push me out of my comfort zone!
• Communication: I keep parents updated with photos and messages throughout the day, ensuring they feel connected but never overwhelmed. I also find that consistent, open dialogue sets children up for success, providing a unified approach between nanny and family.
Currently, I hold an enhanced DBS check, and I am more than willing to undertake the 12-hour paediatric First Aid qualification. I am also able to drive, open to occasional overnight stays or travel, and only live 10 minutes from the family’s home, providing extra flexibility for any changes in routine.
I’d love the opportunity to bring my sense of humour, adaptability, and passion for childcare to your family. I look forward to discussing how my background and enthusiasm could support your children’s growth in such a beautiful countryside setting
