Overview
A lovely young family of 5 in Manhattan is seeking a well-rounded, full-time, live-in/out career nanny to join their team. The position is live-in while working and live-out when not scheduled. The general schedule will be 8am Friday through Monday at 8pm. While on duty, the start time is 6:30am in order to get the children ready for school. Flexibility to work additional shifts as needed will be required. This is a fully staffed home. The primary focus will be on the 1.5 year-old. The elementary school-aged children have their own nanny, however there will be cross-over and collaboration. The candidate will be responsible for all 3 children on Sundays. Ubers will be provided when necessary due to weather or timing
Responsibilities
- All aspects of full-charge nannying including tending to any needs that may arise at night
- Develop and adapt to schedules as the children’s needs evolve
- Bathing, dressing, all child-related meal prep/snacks and finger foods
- Prepare children for school in the morning
- Pick up children from school (walking distance)
- Planning and implementing age-appropriate activities which promote the children's physical, emotional, and intellectual development
- Creating a safe and secure environment for the children at all times
- Maintaining a clean and organized living space for the children, including their bedrooms, play-areas, and common areas
- Performing light child-related household duties, such as dishes and tidying up after the children
- Engage and encourage outdoor activities
- Prep for travel including packing/unpacking
- Research local age-appropriate activities and in advance of travel
Qualifications
- Team-player who will be dedicated to and involved with enriching the lives of the children
- Active and playful with enough stamina to keep up with 3 young children
- Experience in a similar role working in a fully-staffed UHNW home
- Patient and passionate about childcare and child development
- Warm, kind and professional demeanor
- Excellent interpersonal skills
Requirements
- Calm and warm presence with great energy
- 5+ years in a similar role with 3 children ages 1 to elementary school-aged
- Ability to travel internationally and domestically
- Ability to navigate the ebbs and flows of the day
- Flexible to travel at a moments notice
- Excellent communication skills. Must be able to clearly communicate with the parents about daily activities, progress, and any concerns
- Pet friendly. The family has a dog
- Must be willing to sign an NDA
- Must be legal to work in the U.S. and have a valid passport
- The ability to drive and hold a valid driver's license is not required, but would be a huge plus when outside the city
Salary and Benefits
The family is offering $35 to $45 per hour based on experience, with excellent medical benefits, 401k, and 2-weeks PTO.
