Overview
A kind couple based in TriBeCa is seeking a knowledgeable and supportive part-time nanny for their baby born January 2025 to start within the next 4-6 weeks. The schedule will be Monday through Friday 9am-130pm. There is some flexibility on end time if needed. Optional additional hours would be available if desired, staying later approximately 1x per month or coming for an evening shift on a weekend.
Responsibilities
Full infant care including:
- Changing diapers; restocking the changing area with diapers/wipes
- Baby Laundry - wash, fold, put away
- Feeding baby and preparing bottles; helping with introducing solids and making purees as the baby gets older
- Cleaning, sanitizing, and prepping breast pump parts
- Cleaning, sanitizing, and prepping bottles/pacifiers
- Developmentally appropriate play and interaction including singing and reading
- Maintain feeding and sleeping schedule
- Prioritizing the safety and well-being of the baby at all times
- Provide professional guidance as it pertains to baby care, while respecting the family’s personal preferences
Other tasks, if time allows and mother is with baby:
- Light meal prep (e.g. chopping vegetables or preparing a marinade)
- Helping with family laundry 1-2 times per week
Qualifications
- An easygoing and warm attitude and be able to strike a balance between providing suggestions to parents and following their lead
- Organized and tidy
- Happy to work as a team with a stay-at-home mother; some days will be more childcare focused and some days will be more household help
- Training/expertise in cooking and a desire to meal prep/cook would be bonus and would be compensated extra
Requirements
- Minimum of at least 5 years' verifiable experience working with infants including newborns
- US passport, Green Card or EAC
- Up to date on Tdap and MMR vaccinations or willing to update
Salary and Benefits
$30-40 per hour
