Overview
A warm, welcoming, and very busy hands-on family with two young children—a newborn and toddler—is seeking an experienced, nurturing, and proactive nanny to join their household. With a stay-at-home Mother who is actively involved in day-to-day care, this is a collaborative role best suited to someone who thrives in a team environment.
The role is 60-hours per week with a typical schedule of 12-hour days, either 8am-8pm, or 8pm to 8am with availability to help with morning/night-time routine, and with the flexibility for occasional later starts/finishes. It would typically be a 5-day week with the option for 6 days when required, with shorter shifts of 10-hours.
They are also a pet-friendly home, and are looking for someone who is comfortable working around animals and happy to be part of a dynamic, active household.
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality, attentive care for a toddler and newborn
- Work closely alongside the mother, offering support and taking initiative as needed
- Create a safe, engaging, and developmentally appropriate environment
- Plan and participate in the children's educational and creative activities
- Assist with travel preparations, including packing for the children
- Travel with the family as needed (domestic and international)
- Help manage the children’s schedules and routines
- Enrich their learning and development, through language and play
- Arrange and coordinate playdates and other social activities
- Research and schedule enriching classes, outings, or programs for the children
- Cook healthy meals and snacks for the children and wider family
- Do children's laundry and maintain tidiness in their areas (nursery, playroom, etc.)
Qualifications
- The family would like for the nanny to stay with them longterm
- It would be a plus if the candidate were to play a musical instrument
- A second language, preferred
Requirements
- Excellent communication and organizational skills, being able to work to schedules and prepare the children accordingly
- Extensive experience caring for young children, including infants for over 10 years
- IT savvy, we use various applications to log sleep, meals, and toileting
- Educational background in early childhood development or a related field preferred
- Warm, calm, and engaging personality with a team-player mindset
- Ability to read the room and know when to step away, during family time
- Encouraging the children to be confident, social and build great relationships
- Discretion and loyalty are a must
- Pet-friendly and comfortable in a lively, energetic household
- Comfortable managing multiple tasks and adjusting to changing family needs
- CPR and pediatric first aid certified
- Flexibility to travel with the family and adjust hours when needed
- Good swimmer, or qualified swimming teacher
- Must be passport ready as the family travel frequently
