Overview
First-time parents in Brooklyn, NY are seeking a newborn care specialist for their baby, due at the end of April. The role will begin when the baby is around one week old and will last for approximately 3-4 months. The schedule will be 7pm-7am, 7-nights per week.
Only local candidates will be considered at this time as this is a live-out role.
Responsibilities
- Prioritizing the safety and well-being of the baby at all times
- Providing practical tools to enable the parents to keep baby on schedule during the day, thus setting baby up for success at night
- Provide professional guidance as it pertains to baby care while respecting the family’s personal preferences
- Encourage healthy sleep habits and follow safe sleep guidelines
- Be able to offer advice on lactation if needed
- Implementing an effective sleep and feeding routine that the parents can continue once the contract has finished
- Recommending products for baby and nursery
- Providing general support and assistance, where possible
Qualifications
- Must have at least 5 years' verifiable experience working as a newborn care specialist
- Must have experience working nights
Requirements
- Up to date on Flu/RSV/TDap and MMR vaccinations
- First Aid and CPR certified, or willing to certify before employment begins
- Available to start on or around the first week of May 2026 and commit to the full term of 3-4 months
- Must be pet friendly - the family have a large Bernese Mountain dog and a house rabbit
- Excellent verifiable references
- Local to Brooklyn, or within a reasonable commute
- Fluent English speaking
