Overview
A wonderful family in Brooklyn is seeking a warm, experienced, and dedicated nanny to join their family and care for their daughter who will be 3-months-old.
This will be a live-out position and the schedule will initially be 12-20 hours per week (typically 3–4 days, 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM- the candidate will still be paid a full-time salary during this period) this will be for approximately 3-4 months but will be adjusted along the way and evolve into a full-time role (approximately 9am-5pm).
They are looking for a true partner in their daughter’s development—someone who is energetic, creative, and eager to grow with their family over the years.
Mom works from home and may be around during the day, especially in the beginning, so the candidate should be comfortable with this dynamic.
The position is to start around July 13th.
Responsibilities
- Full autonomy and responsibility for the baby’s care and safety.
- Washing bottles and sanitizing toys
- Preparing and introducing solids when the time comes
- Planning and engaging in age-appropriate activities, including trips to the park, library story times, and developmental play.
- Maintaining the nursery and common play areas, and cleaning up after the baby’s meals.
- Communicating with first-time parents about milestones and development
- Joining the family on trips, including extended stays at our second home in Massachusetts
Qualifications
- Proficiency in a second language is highly preferred - Italian or German, but they are open to other languages
- To be interested in and available for longer stretches of travel.
- Knowledgeable about infant and childhood development
- Looking for a long-term commitment
- Warm, kind, and loving
- Professional and communicative
Requirements
- US work authorization
- Travel ready passport for international travel
- Recent experience caring for infants/toddlers.
- Excellent references from previous families.
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to get certified).
- They have a large, friendly dog. No pet care is required, but you must be comfortable sharing the space with her.
- Must be a confident swimmer and have a clean driving record
- Up-to-date on infant vaccines including TDap and MMR, and willing to get annual Covid and Flu boosters
Salary and Benefits
- $45-$50 per hour
- 2 weeks PTO
- Sick/personal days
- $250 monthly health care stipend
