A prestigious luxury property in Buckinghamshire is seeking an experienced Housekeeping Manager with a strong background across luxury 5-star hospitality and private household environments.
This is an exciting opportunity for a highly organised and hands-on housekeeping professional who understands the exceptional standards expected within luxury hotels, private residences and UHNW households.
The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining impeccable standards of cleanliness, presentation and service across guest accommodation, private residences and wider property areas, while leading and developing a dedicated housekeeping team.
Job Description
As Housekeeping Manager, you will oversee the day-to-day housekeeping and laundry operations, ensuring consistently exceptional standards across both luxury hospitality and private household environments.
This is a hands-on leadership position requiring someone who is equally comfortable managing a professional hotel housekeeping operation and working to the highly personalised standards expected within a private residence.
You will oversee team performance, room and residence readiness, inspections, laundry, stock control and training, while working closely with other departments and household or estate teams to ensure a seamless and discreet service.
Role Responsibilities
- Oversee daily housekeeping operations across luxury guest accommodation, private residences, public areas and back-of-house facilities.
- Maintain impeccable standards of cleanliness, presentation, organisation and attention to detail.
- Conduct regular inspections of bedrooms, suites, residences and public areas.
- Ensure all areas are prepared to exceptional 5-star and private household standards.
- Lead, motivate, coach and develop housekeeping and laundry teams.
- Establish and maintain clear housekeeping procedures, SOPs and service standards.
- Coordinate room and residence readiness with Front Office, Estate and wider operational teams.
- Work discreetly and professionally within private household environments, respecting confidentiality and the privacy of principals and guests.
- Support the delivery of personalised housekeeping services in line with individual guest or principal preferences.
- Oversee laundry operations, including the care and presentation of high-value garments, linens and household items.
- Monitor stock levels, purchasing and departmental inventory.
- Support departmental budgeting and cost control.
- Assist with recruitment, onboarding, training and performance management.
- Ensure compliance with COSHH, manual handling, PPE, hygiene and health & safety requirements.
- Maintain high standards of presentation across interiors, furnishings, guest areas and estate facilities.
- Work closely with other departments and household staff to ensure a seamless overall service.
- Lead by example, remaining hands-on and visible within the operation.
- Maintain discretion, professionalism and confidentiality at all times.
Candidate Requirements
- Proven experience in a Housekeeping Manager, Executive Housekeeper, Head Housekeeper or similar senior position.
- Experience within luxury 5-star hotels, private households, private estates or a combination of these environments.
- Strong understanding of luxury housekeeping standards and operational procedures.
- Previous experience managing and developing housekeeping teams.
- Excellent knowledge of laundry operations and the care of luxury fabrics, linens and garments.
- Experience working within a private household or with UHNW principals would be highly advantageous.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a genuine passion for maintaining impeccable standards.
- Experience with recruitment, onboarding, training and staff development.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- High levels of discretion, confidentiality and professionalism.
- Strong understanding of health, safety, hygiene and COSHH requirements.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage changing priorities.
- Flexible approach to working hours, including weekends and bank holidays.
- Hands-on approach with the ability to lead by example.
- Ability to work collaboratively across hospitality, household and estate teams.
- Full UK Driving License and Car is required.
