Private Executive Assistant
High-Level Private Office | Exceptional Organisational Skills | Discretion & Flexibility
We are seeking an exceptional Private Executive Assistant to support a high-profile private individual in a fast-paced, highly varied and confidential environment.
This is a role for someone who genuinely loves the unexpected - someone who thrives on variety, can calmly manage the impossible, and takes pride in finding solutions before problems ever reach the Principal.
The successful candidate will be highly experienced in working at a senior level within a private office or as a Private PA/EA to an individual, and will bring outstanding judgement, discretion, organisation and communication skills.
The Role
No two days will necessarily be the same. Alongside managing the Principal's day-to-day affairs, you will be trusted to take ownership of significant projects and situations that may range from the acquisition or purchase of buildings and property, to organising major charity events, private functions and travel arrangements.
You will be expected to operate with a high degree of autonomy, anticipate requirements and remain calm and solutions-focused whatever the circumstances.
The role will also involve travelling with the Principal and attending parties, social occasions and events as required.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-level, discreet and proactive EA support to the Principal.
- Manage an exceptionally busy and unpredictable diary, ensuring priorities are constantly reviewed and managed.
- Anticipate the Principal's needs and act intuitively, often without being asked.
- Take complete ownership of complex projects from initial concept through to successful completion.
- Manage large-scale projects which may include property/building purchases, charitable initiatives, events and other significant personal or business matters.
- Coordinate travel, logistics, appointments, meetings and events.
- Liaise confidently and professionally with a wide range of people, including advisers, professionals, suppliers, agents, event organisers and private contacts.
- Attend events and social engagements with the Principal when required.
- Handle highly confidential and sensitive information with absolute discretion.
- Deal confidently with last-minute changes, unexpected requests and competing priorities.
- Ensure that nothing falls through the cracks, maintaining exceptional attention to detail at all times.
- Represent the Principal professionally and appropriately at all times.
- Be prepared to travel when required.
About You
You will be an exceptionally organised, composed and intuitive individual who is comfortable operating at the highest level.
You will have:
- Substantial experience as a high-level EA/PA to a private individual or within a private office environment.
- Exceptional organisational and time-management skills.
- A naturally proactive and anticipatory approach.
- Excellent judgement and an instinctive understanding of what is required.
- Absolute discretion and integrity.
- A calm, unflappable personality, particularly when under pressure.
- The ability to manage multiple complex priorities simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A polished, professional approach and presentation.
- The confidence to deal with senior professionals and high-profile individuals.
- Flexibility and a willingness to travel.
- The ability to work autonomously and take ownership without constant direction.
- A practical, solutions-focused mindset.
- The ability to remain calm and constructive rather than reactive when circumstances change.
The Personality
This is particularly suited to someone who doesn't want a predictable 9–5 role.
You will enjoy being the person who can be presented with a completely unexpected challenge and simply think, "Right - let's work out how we're going to make this happen."
You must be comfortable with unpredictability, last-minute changes and situations that require discretion, initiative and excellent judgement.
You will be calm rather than reactive, proactive rather than waiting for instructions, and confident rather than easily flustered.
Above all, you will enjoy the challenge and variety that comes with supporting a private individual whose requirements can change from one day to the next.
Hours & Flexibility
Core hours are Monday to Friday, 9.00am–6.00pm.
However, this is a role that requires a high degree of flexibility, fluidity and availability outside core hours will be necessary, depending on the Principal's requirements, travel, events or projects.
In Summary
We are looking for someone exceptional - not simply an experienced administrator.
Someone discreet, intuitive, highly organised and completely unflappable.
Someone who can manage the smallest detail while simultaneously overseeing a significant project.
Someone who can walk into an unpredictable situation, remain calm and find a solution.
If you are an experienced Private EA who thrives on variety, responsibility and the unexpected, and you take genuine pride in being the person who makes everything happen seamlessly, this could be an exceptional opportunity.
