Overview
A prominent private family is seeking a highly professional, compassionate, and discreet Registered Nurse (RN) to provide premium evening-shift care, from 5:00 PM to 12:00 midnight, 5 evenings per week (with weekend ½ days or full days on an as needed basis.). The candidate must be completely fluent in English, possess an impeccable clinical pedigree in senior care, and demonstrate a refined understanding of private household etiquette. This role carries particular responsibility for the wind-down portion of the principal's day—a period when individuals with early-stage dementia can experience increased confusion or agitation (commonly known as "sundowning"). The evening nurse will be the anchor of a calm, structured, and reassuring transition from day to night.
Responsibilities
Evening Clinical Oversight:
- Conduct end-of-day vital sign checks, administer scheduled evening and bedtime medications, track cognitive baselines as they present in the later hours, and maintain detailed, professional medical logs for handover to the day team, family, and primary physicians.
- Dementia Care Management (Evening Focus): Implement calming, low-stimulation evening routines designed to minimize sundowning anxiety and agitation; provide gentle cognitive engagement appropriate to the time of day (quiet conversation, music, familiar reading material); and manage any early-stage behavioral shifts with patience and dignity.
- Arthritis & Mobility Support (Evening Focus): Assist with safe transfers during the dinner-to-bed transition, support evening comfort measures such as repositioning and warm compress protocols as prescribed and prepare the principal physically for a restful night (assistance with changing into nightwear, joint-support positioning in bed).
- Evening Well-being & Companionship: Accompany the principal through the dinner hour, coordinating dietary needs with household staff; provide engaging, intellectually stimulating yet soothing companionship; and establish a consistent, dignified bedtime ritual.
- Personal Care: Assist the Client with comprehensive personal care, including hygiene, dressing, and grooming. Provide mobility assistance, including expertise in transfers, while maintaining the Client’s dignity and privacy.
- End-of-Shift Handover: Prepare a concise, professional written and verbal handover for the family or incoming night coverage, flagging any changes in pain levels, cognition, mood, or appetite observed during the evening.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will be an autonomous professional—ideally based in the Liguria/Ventimiglia region of Italy as a cross-border commuter (frontalier)—operating under a self-employed business structure (Partita IVA /freelance invoicing).
Requirements
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license or equivalent certified medical credentials (e.g., Italian Infermiere, active registration with OPI or Maison des Professionnels de Santé).
Minimum of 5+ years of nursing experience, with a proven track record in private estate care, elite concierge medicine, or specialized geriatrics/dementia care. Native or completely fluent English is non-negotiable. Conversational French or Italian is a distinct benefit for local logistics but secondary to English.
Preferably Self-Employed/Independent Contractor (registered for freelance invoicing via Italian Partita IVA or French equivalent).

- The home environment must remain free of contamination or external health risks.
- Candidates must have a proven track record of maintaining a clean and orderly personal and professional life.
- The position requires strict adherence to cleanliness protocols and respect for the patient’s environment.
- Cross-Border Accountability: Maintain prompt, reliable evening attendance, factoring in the commute from Italy to Beausoleil and ensuring punctual arrival for the 5:00 PM shift start. Parking Space provided within the condominium building.

Salary and Benefits
- Full-time, Evening Shift (Live-out)
- Hours: 5:00 PM to 12:00 midnight (7 hours), approximately 8 hours of compensated time inclusive of handover duties. Weekend rotation can be negotiated for the right candidate.
