Overview

A lovely family with three children in the Brentwood area of Los Angeles, CA is looking for a candidate to help with cooking, driving the children, and occasional light childcare. The position is ideally part-time, but the family is open to creating a full-time role for the right candidate. The family employs a full-time nanny and is looking to add someone who can help with driving (the kids are at three different schools) and cooking (they'd like to move toward a family mealtime at dinner). This candidate could be a chef with a great driving record who loves kids and is game to help beyond the kitchen, or a nanny who loves cooking and would be excited to take on family dinner as part of their responsibility set. Job could be part or full-time as candidates require, but they would be looking for coverage at least 4 afternoons or evenings a week. The children are twin boys, aged 12 years old, and a 4-year-old girl. The family is looking for a team player who wants to help the family machinery run smoothly and help fill in the necessary gaps!

Responsibilities

Cooking Responsibilities:

Cooking 3-4 family dinners per week, serve dinner at 6:30/7pm family style
Healthy, fun, and heart/cholesterol conscious meals
Open to prepping simple salads and lunches
Family currently eats dinner separately, helping them achieve a goal of a family dinner, making delicious and family friendly meals the whole family can enjoy together
Helping maintain the vegetable garden at home, incorporate the fresh produce from the garden. Prep and freeze the garden produce if there is an abundance
Use fresh ingredients, have minimal waste
Be creative and include the children in the planning and cooking, helping them expand their tastes and encouraging them to explore new foods
Collaborate on a weekly menu, and collaborate with other staff to maintain the kitchen inventory, and grocery shop
Maintain a clean and organized kitchen space when you are using it
Create and assist for occasional dinner parties

Childcare/Driving

The children are at 3 different schools, help driving them to and from their various school and after school activities
Help with coverage for evening childcare when needed
Happy to engage with the children, include them in the planning for meals
Someone open to connecting with teenage boy energy in the form of sports, games, etc is a big plus
Help maintain routines, assist with homework if needed, overall care when sole charge
