Overview
A welcoming, warm and respectful family based in Madrid, Spain, seeks a fantastic Laundress who can also take on light housekeeping/cooking duties when required. The likely schedule will be Monday through Friday, 10am-5pm, and ideally the candidate will start as soon as possible.
Responsibilities
- Household laundry and ironing, ensuring appropriate care of garments, and including hand-washing when required, stain removal, linen folding etc
- Wardrobe organisation and rotation, including keeping an eye on children's clothes and ordering new items when necessary
- Ideally some interest in sewing/seamstress duties, such as mending, altering, fixing buttons, name tapes etc
- Occasional housekeeping if back-up support is needed (for example, if someone is off sick or hasn't managed to complete all duties)
- Some family cooking if possible
- Occasional childcare for two children aged 4-years and 6-years, stepping in when the parents are busy (although they will do the majority of the care)
Requirements
The household is calm, welcoming, balanced and harmonious. The successful candidate will fit seamlessly into this environment and:
- Should be fluent in English and/or French. Spanish would also be helpful but isn't essential
- Should have excellent attention to detail with high standards
- Will be calm, down-to-Earth and measured in approach
- Must have a positive, pitch-in attitude
- Must love children and pets!
- Has prior experience with household laundry, ironing, mending and folding
- Is a confident cook, willing to learn new recipes and incorporate the family's preferences
- Is intelligent, has initiative and is consistently reliable and puntual
Salary and Benefits
- From 40,000 gpa dependingon experience
