Overview
A private Upper East Side family is looking for an experienced live-out professional nanny to assist with the care of their two children, ages 8 and 5-years-old. The schedule for this role is Monday through Friday from 12 pm until 8:30 pm. The family travels 2-4 times per year and spends time in the Hampton's during the summer- the candidate will be required to do both.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities for the role include, but are not limited to;
- Providing all aspects of childcare while creating a safe, stimulating, and nurturing environment
- Planning educational and recreational activities, as well as ensuring the safety of the children at all times
- Managing children's day-to-day schedule, including taking children to and from appointments and activities, and coordinating children's play-dates, field trips, and extracurricular activities
- Light tidying of the children’s play areas, including laundry for the children only, packing and unpacking children's belongings as needed, etc.
- Run errands and help out where needed
Qualifications
- The ideal candidate loves children, understands their social and emotional needs, is energetic, can integrate learning into playtime, is eager to work, and has flexibility with scheduling
- The chosen candidate should be able to anticipate the needs of the children and family proactively
- The caregiver should practice common sense and take initiative to accomplish tasks and make decisions
- They will also be required to maintain a constant line of communication, report to the parents, and work well on a team
Requirements
- Excellent references from current and previous employers
- CPR & First Aid certified
- Drivers license
- Able to spend summers in the Hampton's (4 days on and 3 days off rotation through July and August)
- Ability to swim
- Hold a Valid Passport and be able to travel domestically and internationally
- Legal to work in the US
Salary and Benefits
- Compensation for this role does depend on experience and ranges from $40-$45 per hour plus a health care contribution
