Overview
An active family on the Upper East Side is seeking a highly experienced, career nanny to support the care of their 12-year-old daughter. This is a long-term position for a professional nanny who enjoys working as part of a team and supporting busy parents. Please note: The family employs another nanny, and this position includes scheduled days off each week as part of a shared coverage arrangement. Flexibility and collaboration are required.
Full-time schedule with rotating coverage alongside another nanny
Typical hours when the child is in school: 3pm-10pm
Overnights as needed: 10pm-7am
Weekend travel: 7am-10pm, with overnights when traveling
When in NYC, overnights are only required as needed (not daily)
The family regularly travels to their Connecticut home on weekends, and the nanny is expected to travel with them
Responsibilities
- All aspects of full-charge care of a 12-year-old
- Escorting the child to and from after-school activities
- Supervising dinner, bath time, and bedtime routines
Supporting the child’s emotional, social, and academic development
Serving as a positive role model and leading by example
Qualifications
- Highly experienced and professional career nanny
Engaging, outgoing, emotionally mature, and positive
Firm yet warm childcare approach with clear boundaries, consistency, and discipline
Playful with a good sense of humor
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Team-oriented and comfortable working alongside household staff
Requirements
- Valid U.S. passport or authorization to work in the United States
- Must be comfortable signing NDA
Ability to travel domestically and internationally during school breaks and summer months
Flexibility with schedule, including occasional overnights
Salary and Benefits
The family is offering $100k, a benefits package, and overtime for all hours over 40 per week
