Overview
Kind and down-to-earth first-time parents living in Nomad are in search of a rock-star Newborn Care Specialist to help support them with their new baby. Mom is due early August and needs someone who can be available late July if needed. The role will be 10-12 hour night shifts for 4-6 weeks with a possible extension. Please note: the family has 3 very friendly cats, but must be willing to work with animals in the house.
Responsibilities
- Prioritising the safety and well-being of the baby at all times, providing attentive and nurturing overnight care
- Providing guidance and tools to enable the parents to keep to a daily schedule, and building their confidence in all the day-to-day aspects of the baby's care and well-being
- Supporting parents with feeding and taking on the overnight feeds
- Maintaining a calm and supportive environment while everyone transitions to the new normal
- Baby's laundry, bottle sterilising (if required), and cleaning of toys and other baby items
- When appropriate, gently encourage healthy sleep and feeding schedules
Qualifications
- Punctual and reliable
- Reasonably flexible around the schedule
- Extremely good communicators
- Warm, friendly and passionate about their role
- Able to work with involved parents
- Open, supportive, warm and caring
- Locally based, as this is a live-out role
Requirements
- MUST be ok working in a home with cats
- At least five years of experience as a Newborn Care Specialist
- CPR and First Aid certification
- Up-to-date childhood-related vaccinations (COVID and flu not required)
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S.
- Ability to commit to the contract
- Availability to reserve two weeks prior to the due date
Salary and Benefits
- $40–$50 per hour, depending on experience
- Live-out while not on shift
