Overview
A warm and easygoing Bay Area family spending the summer in Hampton Bays, NY, is seeking a professional nanny/family assistant for a 12-week summer placement, approximately June 1, 2026, through August 31, 2026.
The family has two toddlers- a 4-year-old girl and a 2.5-year-old boy- and a third baby on the way. With mom expecting during the summer, the family is seeking a proactive hybrid candidate who can balance attentive childcare with helping to maintain the household's flow.
This role will be a balanced childcare and family assistant position, with part of the day focused on caring for the children and part on assisting with household tasks related to the children and general tidiness. The family describes themselves as relaxed, respectful parents who value kindness, independence, and creating a fun environment for their children.
Living Arrangements:
- Open to live-out candidates who can commute locally
- Also open to live-in candidates Monday–Friday with weekends off the property
Schedule
- Approximately 32–40 hours per week
- Monday through Friday 9am- 5:30pm - exact hours TBC
Responsibilities
Childcare
- Provide attentive care for two toddlers (ages 4 and 2.5)
- Plan and engage in fun, age-appropriate activities
- Encourage independence while maintaining clear boundaries
- Supervise outdoor play and swimming
- Prepare simple meals and snacks for the children
Family Assistant Duties
- Children’s laundry
- Kitchen tidying and clean-up after meals
- Surface resets in common areas
- Light vacuuming in high-traffic areas
- General clean-up after the children
- Helping maintain the daily flow of the household
A professional cleaning service handles deep cleaning once per week.
Qualifications
- Warm, proactive, and organized
- Comfortable balancing childcare with household support
- Confident setting boundaries while maintaining a fun and engaging environment
- Enjoys being active and spending time outdoors with children
- Comfortable working in a home where parents may occasionally be present
The family is seeking someone who will bring positive energy, structure, and helpful support to their home during a busy and exciting summer season.
Requirements
- Clean driving record required (family will provide a work vehicle)
- Strong swimming skills preferred as the home has a pool and is located on the bay
- CPR / First Aid certification preferred (nice to have but not required)
- Proven experience working with toddlers
- Willingness to assist with light household tasks related to the children

- Home has a pool and water access, making swimming ability a plus
Salary and Benefits
- $45–$65/hour depending on experience
- Housing provided for weekday live-in candidates
- Travel stipend may be considered depending on commute
