Overview
A family of three living in Houston, TX, is seeking an executive housekeeper to join their family. This is a full-time, live-out position. The Schedule is Monday through Friday, 7/8 am-3/4 pm. Guaranteed 40 hours per week. Flexibility is needed if an event or dinner is taking place. The family has an additional home in Aspen, and travel will be required. The preference would be for someone already living locally to Houston, but the family is open to relocating the right candidate. The family is ready to hire immediately.
Responsibilities
- Prior high-end housekeeping experience
- Knowledge of high-caliber art, furniture, and fixtures
- High-value art in the home - understanding proper care (no improper cleaning like Windex, etc.)
- Daily maintenance of a 5,500sq ft home.
- General housekeeping & home maintenance
- Most of the laundry is sent out and/or drycleaned, so there is only light laundry involved.
- High-level garment care knowledge (VERY important)
- Read dry cleaning labels
- Proper handling of luxury clothing
- Manage laundry logistics:
- Sort and organize items for dry cleaning
- Unpack, hang, and store correctly
- Able to handle dry cleaning sent out and put away properly when returned
- Table setting & entertaining support, fine linens, china, napkins
- Light assistance with:
- Event setup
- Supporting the chef during dinners
- Maintain the home while the family travels
- Deep cleaning projects when the family is away
- Domestic travel only (primarily Aspen)
- Flexibility if Aspen staffing changes
Requirements
- Must be legal to work in the US
- Travel to Aspen is required
- Fluent in French is a plus!
- There is a small dog in the home, and occasional clean-up may be required
- Attention to detail and discretion required
- Must have a clean and valid driver's license
- Must be comfortable working in a home with a small dog
- Seeking a true professional with high standards
- Must be able to work independently and take initiative
Salary and Benefits
The family is open on salary and will provide PTO and a medical stipend.
