Overview
A warm and thoughtful family based in Tribeca, New York City is seeking an exceptional full-time nanny for their young son, currently 17 months old. This is a long-term opportunity for someone who genuinely loves working with children, values structure, and development, and is excited to be part of a respectful, well-run household. The family lives primarily in New York City and the Hamptons, and travels occasionally including extended stays in Hawaii. They are looking for a calm, capable, and proactive nanny who can grow with their family over time.
The ideal candidate is someone who brings warmth, consistency, and genuine investment in a child’s development every single day. This role is best suited for someone who enjoys a dynamic but well-structured lifestyle, values consistency, and remains flexible when the family’s needs evolve across locations. The family is in an active transition period and is looking to begin onboarding as soon as possible to allow for a meaningful crossover and training period with their current nanny. You must be open to travel arrangements during Hamptons stays and occasional extended travel to Hawaii.
- Core schedule: Monday–Friday, approximately 7:00am – 6:00pm
- Flexibility for occasional evenings and weekends (as needed)
- Open to live-in (Nationwide search) or live-out locally in NYC, but must live-in during travel periods
- Frequent travel as they split their time between the Hamptons and NYC throughout the year
Responsibilities
- Providing attentive, loving, and developmentally engaged care for one toddler, currently 17 months old
- Maintaining a consistent and predictable daily routine including meals, naps, and activities
- Supporting developmental milestones through active, engaged, and purposeful play
- Encouraging independence, respect, and positive behavior with calm, steady, and loving guidance
- Facilitating social interaction through outings, classes, and playdates
- Preparing fresh, healthy, and varied meals for the child and introducing new foods to encourage a diverse and balanced palate
- Keeping all child-related kitchen areas clean and organized
- Maintaining the child’s spaces, clothing, toys, gear, and daily essentials in a tidy and organized manner
- Proactively flagging when items need to be replenished or updated
- Acting as a trusted partner to the parents on routines, development, and daily observations
- Sharing thoughtful observations and ideas around growth and milestones
- Taking initiative and anticipating the family’s needs with confidence and professionalism
- Traveling with the family to the Hamptons during the summer and to Hawaii for occasional extended stays
- Adapting seamlessly to multi-location living while maintaining consistency for the child
Qualifications
- Warm, kind, patient, and genuinely invested in a child’s wellbeing
- Calm presence with low-drama, steady energy and a professional demeanor
- Values routine, consistency, and healthy developmental boundaries
- Comfortable guiding behavior in a loving but confident way
- Natural self-starter who takes initiative and solves problems independently
- Energetic and engaged, enjoys active play and outdoor time
- Physically comfortable managing a toddler throughout the day including lifting, outings, and travel
- Comfortable working and traveling across NYC, Hamptons, and Hawaii environments
- Adaptable and positive in a multi-location household setting
- Strong attention to detail in routines, belongings, and daily flow
- Respectful of a busy household and able to work independently
Requirements
- CPR and First Aid certification required
- Strong references from previous nanny placements required
- Must be open to live-in arrangements during Hamptons stays and Hawaii travel, if local and live-out
- Must be comfortable with extended travel including domestic and international
- Must be comfortable working across multiple locations including New York City, the Hamptons, and Hawaii
- Driving is not required but may be requested on occasion, particularly for local transport
- Bilingual in Spanish, French, or Italian is a strong plus
- Experience preparing meals for the entire family is preferred
- Experience in private homes with high-profile families is preferred
- Must be available to start as soon as possible for crossover and training period with current nanny
- Long-term commitment strongly preferred
Salary and Benefits
- $114,000+ per year
