Overview
A professional couple in Washington, CT, is seeking two full-time career housekeepers to join their established team. Candidates should be detail-oriented, able to follow structured systems, and be comfortable working collaboratively under the House Manager's direction. There are two shift options available. The first shift is Monday through Friday from 7 am to 3 pm. The second shift is 12 pm to 8 pm. The family is also open to having the candidates work longer days for a shorter work week, as long as there is coverage from 7 am to 8 pm Monday through Friday. Flexibility to work weekends when the family is traveling will be required. The candidates will have the option to live-in during their shift, but will not be able to remain on the property during days off. The main house is 10,000 sq ft, and consists of 5-bedrooms, 6-bathrooms, and a basement with a wine room. The guest house has 3-bedrooms, 2-bathrooms, a living room, and a kitchen on the second floor, and 1 staff suite downstairs. The family has two beloved large dogs, and pet care will be required. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled housekeeper who takes pride in their work and thrives in a structured, team-oriented environment.
Responsibilities
Include, but are not limited to:
- Execute daily housekeeping tasks according to a structured household manual and assigned room schedule
- Provide advanced laundry care, including hand-washing, reading garment labels, and caring for delicate fabrics (e.g., cashmere) using appropriate tools and techniques, particularly in the absence of high-end dry-cleaning services
- Maintain organization and cleanliness throughout the home to established standards
- Manage silverware and specialty items with care; ask for instructions when uncertain.
- Inventory management of cleaning supplies and other household consumables
- Making beds and changing linens
- Communicate effectively with team members to ensure smooth daily operations
- Assist with dog care, including managing pet hair and maintaining clean living spaces for large breeds (Portuguese Water Dog, Irish Wolfhound)
- Support pet care during travel periods (daytime care only; no overnight responsibilities required)

Salary and Benefits
