Overview
A returning client is seeking a temporary, full-time live-in nanny to provide coverage for their two young children (approximately 15 months and 3.5 years old) during a short-term gap in care from April 17 through May 10 in Chicago.
This is a dynamic household requiring a nanny who is proactive, flexible, and confident managing full days with young children while working alongside parents in a shared-care environment.
The schedule will be 8:00 AM to 7:00 PM daily, with flexibility required based on the family’s needs.
This is a live-in role, with the nanny provided a private apartment on a separate floor from the family, offering a high level of comfort and privacy.
The role is best suited for a nanny who thrives in long, active days, enjoys being hands-on, and can seamlessly step in to support both childcare and the overall flow of the household.
Responsibilities
- Provide full-day care for two young children.
- Lead the daily routine, including play, meals, outings, and transitions.
- Plan and engage in active, developmentally appropriate play, including outdoor activities.
- Prepare meals and snacks for the children, with occasional light support for family meals.
- Complete children’s laundry and maintain organization of their belongings and spaces.
- Perform light housekeeping and daily tidying related to the children and shared spaces.
- Provide hands-on support during dinner and bedtime routines.
- Assist during evening hours as needed, including when parents are present.
- Offer general household support and step in proactively where needed.
Qualifications
- Strong, recent experience caring for two young children simultaneously.
- Confident managing full days with toddlers and preschool-aged children.
- Energetic, engaging, and comfortable with active, play-based days.
- Calm, capable, and physically able to keep up with young children.
- Flexible and adaptable in a dynamic, shared-care environment.
- Professional, polished, and comfortable in a private home setting.
Requirements
- Legally authorized to work in the United States.
- Available for the full contract dates: April 17 – May 10.
- Comfortable working 7 days per week with extended hours.
- Able to live-in for the duration of the assignment (private apartment provided).
- Reliable, punctual, and highly professional.
Salary and Benefits
- $45 per hour totaling $500 per dayTotal contract compensation: $12,000
