Overview
A private, active, Bay Area family of 4 who have an outdoor lifestyle and enjoy all that nature has to offer is seeking a highly polished, superlative, proactive, systems-oriented butler. The position oversees housekeeping and assists with the seamless operation of a 14,000 sq. ft. primary residence and supports a portfolio of five properties, all maintained to a luxury hospitality standard comparable to that of a European 5-star hotel.
The ideal candidate will bring a high level of discretion, structure, and initiative, with the ability to anticipate needs, implement systems, and elevate overall household operations.
The general schedule will be Tuesday through Saturday or Monday through Friday, with some weekend coverage as needed. Rotational flexibility required with occasional on-call coverage (approximately 2 hours on designated days)

Responsibilities
Include, but are not limited to:
- Oversee and manage daily interior operations of the primary residence and additional properties
- Ensure a highly organized, polished, and guest-ready environment at all times
- Provide butler service, including formal/informal service, household readiness, and anticipatory care
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping, organization, and presentation across all spaces (three levels of living)
- Assist in hosting and managing guests, particularly during high-traffic periods (e.g., summer visits)
- Ensure readiness of daily essentials (e.g., vehicles, personal items, children’s needs)
- Support light childcare-related organization (toys, children’s areas, daily upkeep)
- Identify gaps in operations and proactively implement improvements
- Pack/unpack for principals – Manage closet organization
- Run errands as needed and complete general ad hoc tasks
- Provide personalized service to the principals throughout the day – always anticipating needs
- Coordinate deliveries/returns to and from the home
- Manage the appearance of all properties
- Travel to other properties as needed
- Create and maintain household organization systems
- Oversee pantry, toiletry, and household inventory, restock as needed
- Collaboratively work with other staff to ensure the home runs smoothly
Qualifications
- Truly enjoys being of service and appreciates the finest of details
- Strong systems and operations mindset; experience with tools such as Trello preferred
- Highly detail-oriented with a proactive, solution-driven approach
- Comfortable in a hands-on role; not purely managerial
- Strong service background (European training or hospitality experience preferred)
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and properties simultaneously
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Discreet, professional, and aligned with a traditional, polished household environment

Requirements
- Pet-Friendly – The family has dogs and chickens
- Prior experience in a similar role with an active family
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs
- Tech savvy
- Willingness to sign NDA and complete a background check
- Flexibility with the schedule and travel
- Always operate with integrity and discretion
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- Butler certification preferred
- Vendor management and client advocacy experience are a plus

Salary and Benefits
- Salary: $145,000–$170,000, commensurate with experience
