Overview
A two-household family are seeking a full-time live-out nanny for their 2 children ages 12 and 14 years-old. Both parents reside on the UWS within 3 blocks of each other. The schedule will be Monday from 3pm-10pm; Tuesday through Friday 3pm-7/8pm with the occasional later evening hours. They will guarantee pay for 40 hours weekly even if not working all those hours. There may be some occasional weekend coverage needed or overnight care when a parent is traveling. The role aims to start in late June/ early July. There is no summer travel for this role.
Responsibilities
- Picking the first child up at 3pm and occasionally the other child around 5pm; all afterschool activities will be close to home/school
- Meal prep for the children and feeding them
- Overseeing homework
- Children's laundry
- Keeping their rooms organized but also teaching them to do this themselves
- Engaging in conversations with the children
- Modeling healthy screen time habits
Qualifications
- Experience with adolescents/teenagers
- Teaching experience
Requirements
- The ideal candidate for this role will preferably have previous teaching experience
- Experience with children in these age ranges of 12 & 14
- Someone who can set firm boundaries with love, be gentle but effective with limit setting Engaging them in real life and not utilizing phones/social media/screens to entertain the children or in excess around the children
Salary and Benefits
- The hourly rate is $35-45/hour contingent upon experience and qualifications
- Benefits include two weeks' vacation, federal holidays off (Christmas and Thanksgiving for sure, but some "minor" federal holidays they may need support so candidate to hire must be available for this)
