Overview
A busy entrepreneurial couple in NYC is seeking an experienced House Manager to join their team to oversee operations for a sophisticated, multi-property private household. This role is ideal for a seasoned professional with a background in luxury hospitality or private, five-star-level service who excels at leadership, organization, and elevating service standards. The candidate is required to have had front of house experience as the main focus would be on meal service and include managing housekeeping staff. The position is based in NYC, with travel to the Hamptons and Aspen as needed.
Responsibilities
- This role will report to a director of residence or estate manager
- Provide management of all household operations across multiple residence
- Five start hospitality level of service to be provided across all aspects of the home with primary focus on food and housekeeping
- Front of house service experience in a high-end restaurant with formal table service, and formal dining knowledge
- Develop and implement comprehensive standard operating procedures and house manuals
- Ensure seamless execution of formal and informal entertaining with a strong focus on food, wine, and table presentation.
- Logistical organization of private Michelin level dining intimate events, dinners and gatherings at the home
- Supervise and mentor household staff, fostering a calm, professional, and respectful environment
- Manage vendors, contractors, and special projects from routine maintenance to capital improvements
- The two dads will be expecting children in the fall, so comfortable working around infants and newborn care specialists is required

Requirements
- Legal to work in the US
- Front of house service experience in a high-end restaurant
- Comfortable working in a modern family environment and coordinating across multiple homes
- Prior experience as a house manager or senior hospitality leader or butler in a high-end home
- Strong background with high-level service. Exposure to fine dining, wine programs, and formal entertaining is a plus
- Demonstrated ability to create structure: SOPs, manuals, checklists, and training programs
- Confident leader who delegates effectively and empowers staff
- Highly detail-oriented with excellent communication skills
- Proactive mindset with the ability to anticipate needs and recommend solutions
- Discreet, professional, and respectful of privacy
- Ability to travel between residences as needed
- Strong technology and organizational skills
Salary and Benefits
The couple is offering a competitive salary of $150K++ depending on experience. Benefits are included.
