Overview
A warm and well-traveled family is seeking an experienced, bilingual Temporary Travel Nanny to provide childcare support during a two week trip to the south of France this summer. The family will be spending one week in Vence and one week in Antibes, approximately 30 minutes outside of Nice, and are looking for a local candidate with strong knowledge of the region who can provide seamless, professional care across both locations.
The child is a happy and easy going 20 month old girl who sleeps well through the night. The family travels frequently and has a strong preference for local nannies who bring genuine familiarity with the areas they visit. This is a wonderful opportunity for a warm, experienced childcare professional based in the south of France who is comfortable working in a family centered environment with extended family involvement.
The role shifts in scope across the two weeks. During the first week in Vence, the family will be surrounded by in-laws and other families, so part time support is all that is needed. During the second week in Antibes, the nanny will transition to a live in arrangement, supporting the child and her grandparents while the parents attend a private event in Italy.
Week One: Vence
The family will be staying with in-laws and a larger group of families during this portion of the trip. The nanny will provide part time daily support of approximately 6 hours per day, estimated between 7am and 2pm or 7am and 3pm depending on the child’s schedule. Extended family will be present and actively involved, so this week calls for a supportive and flexible presence rather than sole charge care.
Week Two: Antibes
During the second week, the parents will be away in Italy. The nanny will live in with the child and her maternal grandparents, who are in their 70s and deeply loving but unable to manage full day care independently. The grandparents will remain actively involved, joining for meals and outings, and the nanny’s role is to provide consistent support and energy throughout the day. Estimated hours are approximately 10am to 10pm. The child sleeps through the night and overnight care is not required. The nanny will have her own private room.
