Overview
A NYC-based high-profile two-dad family is looking for an experienced, reliable nanny to support their two young boys and be an active, positive presence in their lives. The right person is warm, organized, and confident in managing routines, activities, and day-to-day care. The candidate to hire will be supported by a full household team (housekeeper/house manager, backup nannies), so the focus stays on the children and their daily needs. The children are 3.5-years-old and 1.5-years-old and they have another baby on the way but there will be an NCS for the baby and eventually they will hire another nanny down the line to help so this role is focused on the toddlers. Both of the children are in Montessori school. The client's primary home is in Gramercy Park but they have a second home in Miami they spend a significant amount of during during Winter and Spring, generally January through May. This role is June-December (6-7 months in contract duration). This role is 3 days a week Friday through Sunday, can potentially do 4 days a week. The hours are 7am-8pm. It will be approximately 40 hours per week but it will depend on how many days a week the nanny is working. They will guarantee pay for 35 hours/week. The role is live-in when working and live-out when not working (private room provided in their Gramercy Park home). However, live-out possible for candidates able to reliably commute to Gramercy Park early mornings and stay later on certain evenings as needed. The role starts ASAP.
They value a calm, structured, and supportive environment for their children. Familiarity with Montessori principles is a plus, but not required. They're looking for someone who can follow their routines, reinforce good habits, and create a positive, engaging day for the boys.
Responsibilities
- Plan and lead age-appropriate activities, including playtime, outings, and outdoor time
- Maintain daily routines (meals, naps, transitions, bedtime support as needed)
- Prepare simple, healthy meals and snacks for the boys
- Help keep children’s rooms, toys, and belongings organized
- Assist with scheduling and logistics (playdates, activities, appointments)
- Communicate regularly with parents about the children’s day
- Work collaboratively with the household team to keep things running smoothly
- Travel is a regular part of this role. They are out of New York approximately 3–4 months per year, primarily in Miami and occasionally Europe. You’ll travel with the family, help maintain routines, and support the children in different environments. All travel logistics are arranged in advance. Flights and accommodations are provided.
Requirements
• Minimum 3 years of nanny experience, ideally with toddlers and preschoolers• Valid passport and ability to travel internationally• Current CPR and first-aid certification• Spanish or Hebrew is a plus, but not required• Warm, dependable, and engaging• Organized and comfortable managing a daily routine• Proactive and able to take initiative when needed• Good communicator, open to feedback, and easy to work with• Comfortable in a staffed household and collaborative with others• Flexible and adaptable, especially during travel
