Overview
A lovely Atlanta family visiting East Hampton is seeking an experienced and energetic Temporary Nanny for their 20-month-old son for the month of August, covering August 1st through August 25th. The family will be staying in East Hampton for the month and is looking for a local, live-out candidate who is ready to hit the ground running with an active, social, and sweet little boy who loves the water and being around other kids. This is not a traditional Monday through Friday role. The schedule is built around the family’s summer lifestyle and will include weekend evening coverage as the parents enjoy their time out, daytime weekend coverage, and two additional weekday shifts during standard daytime hours. The right candidate will be flexible, easy going, and genuinely excited about spending a month in the Hamptons with a fun and easygoing toddler.
The family is offering a guaranteed 30 to 40 hours per week for the duration of the placement. Friday and Saturday coverage will begin around 1:00pm and extend through the evening, including late nights as needed. Sundays will be daytime coverage, with two additional weekday shifts during standard daytime hours. The family is flexible on the exact day off configuration and open to discussing what works best for the right candidate. There is a pool on site and the family will also be surrounded by other families with young children, so there will be plenty of opportunity for playdates, park outings, and social activities throughout the month.
This is a temporary placement running August 1st through August 25th. Local East Hampton or Hamptons based candidates strongly preferred. Live-out only.
Responsibilities
- Providing attentive, engaged care for one active 20-month-old boy
- Swimming with the child and supervising pool time on site
- Driving the child to activities including the park, library, and playdates with nearby families
- Engaging the child in age-appropriate activities and socialization throughout the day
- Evening coverage on Fridays and Saturdays while the parents are out, including late night hours as needed
- Remaining flexible and available within booked shifts, including on call windows where active engagement may begin later in the day
Qualifications
The ideal candidate is warm, active, and genuinely loves spending time with toddlers. They are comfortable with an unpredictable summer schedule, thrive in a social environment, and bring the kind of energy that a busy 20-month-old deserves. They are reliable, communicative, and able to work independently without needing close supervision.
Requirements
- Prior experience with toddlers required
- Strong swimming ability required, pool on site
- Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle required
- Local to the East Hampton area, live-out only
- Comfortable with flexible scheduling including weekend evenings and late nights
- Energetic, active, and comfortable keeping pace with a very active toddler
- Legal to work in the US
Salary and Benefits
- This position offers $35 and above per hour (commensurate with experience), with a guaranteed 30 to 40 hours per week for the duration of the placement.
- Overnight accommodations may be available on a case by case basis following very late nights, at the family’s discretion.
