Overview
A discreet family in the San Francisco Peninsula is seeking a reliable, caring, dynamic ROTA nanny to join their team, providing daytime care for their 18-month-old child and future children. Coverage will be split between the 2 nannies, working 12-hour shifts, typically from 7am-7pm (occasionally there will be overtime hours required in the evening) on a 14 on /14 off ROTA schedule. The family are seeking long-term nannies who can build lasting relationships and adapt to their child’s evolving needs. The ideal candidate will be passionate about early childhood development, dedicated to creating a nurturing environment, and able to work collaboratively in a team setting to support their growing family. The family travel both domestically and abroad and flexibility is required, as the schedule may vary depending on operational needs.
The family is offering to fly candidates in/out for this opportunity and private accommodation is provided on duty.
Responsibilities
- Provide attentive and high-quality care for a 18-month-old baby (and future children)
- Follow the child’s daily routine (feeding, diaper changes, nap times, playtime).
- Engage in age-appropriate developmental activities such as tummy time, sensory play, reading, and music.
- Ensure safety, comfort, safe sleep practices and clean environment for the baby.
- Collaborate with parents to develop and implement routines that support the baby's developmental needs and adjust as the baby grows.
- Keep parents updated on baby’s activities, mood, and any notable changes.
- Drive the baby to various outings, appointments or activities. Candidate must have a valid driver's license.
- Manage and replenish inventory of baby-related items, while performing light housekeeping tasks associated with the baby, including bottle cleaning, baby laundry, and maintaining cleanliness and sanitization of baby’s areas
- Travel with the family to ensure consistent care for the baby during trips, and take responsibility for packing all essential baby-related items, such as clothing, gear, food, and other necessities. Light housekeeping tasks related to the baby will be expected while traveling.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a full-time nanny, especially with infants, and an ability to care for multiple children of different ages simultaneously.
- Knowledge of infant care, including feeding, sleep routines, developmental milestones, and safety is required
- Must pass a background check and provide reliable references and be CPR/First Aid certified or willing to obtain before start date
- A degree or certification in Early Childhood Education/Infant Care or equivalent professional experience is required
- Mandarin language skills are a huge plus but are not essential
Requirements
- US passport, Green Card or EAC and be willing to travel with the family domestically and internationally when necessary.
- The candidate must be eager and able to embrace an active lifestyle, engaging with the baby and future children through outdoor play, running, walks, and other energetic activities.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment.
- This is a multi-generational household, and the candidate will be expected to work collaboratively with both parents and grandparents, effectively communicating key concepts to all family members.
- Patience, warmth, and a deep commitment to the care of young children.
- Ability to handle flexible and long shifts, as well as collaborate with a second nanny.
- Candidates MUST be comfortable with cats
Salary and Benefits
- Guaranteed $200k/year minimum
- Competitive benefits package including health insurance, dental, vision, matching 401k and per diem when on duty
- Private accommodation (a 2-bed apartment shared with the other nanny) will be provided for candidates while on duty.
- The family will cover any travel costs for those candidates flying in/flying out, as well as provide a relocation package to those candidates who choose to relocate.
