Overview
A lovely family of three who will be staying on the Upper East Side of Manhattan is seeking a live-out nanny to help care for their 6-year-old son who is mildly autistic. He will have speech therapy Monday through Friday for between 3 and 6 hours each day; the nanny would only be required to care for him after he has finished, help with tasks, and continue the therapist's recommendations.
This is a temporary position starting July 15th through August 15th. The schedule is to be determined but will be Monday through Friday, with a guarantee of 25-30 hours per week. The parents are hands-on, and the ideal candidate will be patient, kind, professional, and genuinely enjoy working with children.
Responsibilities
The candidate should have previous experience working with children on the autism spectrum
- Ensure the child's safety at all times
- Continue with the speech therapist's recommendations
- Take the child to the park
- Organize fun, age-appropriate activities
