Overview
Discreet household seeking an experienced, warm, and highly organized live-in Nanny / Family Assistant to support a preschooler (in full-time daycare) in Westchester, NY. The role is designed to provide consistent weekday stability, proactive household support, and thoughtful travel flexibility within a structured, respectful working environment. The schedule will be 40 hours a week, guaranteed Monday through Friday. This person needs to be able to travel domestically and internationally with the family.
Responsibilities
Primary Childcare Responsibilities
- Morning routine, dressing, breakfast preparation, and daycare logistics
- Afternoon care, age-appropriate engagement, and structured play
- Child meal preparation and bath/bedtime support
- Sick-day coverage and daycare closure coverage
- Occasional sole-charge overnight care during short domestic travel
- Warm, playful and genuinely engaged with children, with a real interest in child development and a calm, emotionally supportive approach to boundaries and behavior
- Genuinely loves cooking and is excited to own the family’s food needs — planning, shopping and preparing three meals per day, five days per week for the family, plus some weekend preparation. Good, simple, healthy home cooking is the goal; I don’t need a professional chef.
- Highly proactive and independent — notices what needs doing and handles it without waiting for a task list
- Flexible and adaptable. Sole-charge care while I travel domestically or internationally replaces the previous requirement to accompany me on international business travel. Some family travel will still be expected, so prior experience traveling professionally with a family is preferred.
- Previous live-in experience preferred, with an understanding of the boundaries and independence that make a live-in arrangement work well
- Communicative, open to feedback, and able to adapt
- Discreet and professionally boundaried, with her own life outside the household
