Overview
A warm family of five in Bronxville, NY is seeking an experienced Special Needs Nanny / Family Assistant for their three children, ages 15, 11, and 7. While the candidate will provide general after-school support across all three children, the role will have a particular focus on their 11-year-old daughter, who has high-functioning autism and ADHD and benefits from additional supervision and support.
She attends a mainstream school with support and is a bright, creative and active child who loves art, tennis and squash. She thrives with structure and routine and benefits from support with emotional regulation, impulsivity and daily routines, particularly after school.
The ideal candidate will be fun, engaging and positive while also able to provide firm, consistent boundaries. The family is particularly looking for a mature career nanny who is highly reliable, uses good judgement and can take initiative without requiring significant direction.
The schedule is Monday through Friday, 2pm–8pm, with 30 guaranteed hours per week. The family lives close to Bronxville Metro-North station, and a family vehicle will be provided for work-related driving. Both parents have flexible schedules and are regularly home.
