Overview
Our UHNW clients are seeking an experienced, meticulous and highly professional Laundress to join their private household team at their estate in Tampa, Florida.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the complete care and management of the family’s clothing, linens and personal laundry. This is a highly hands-on position requiring exceptional attention to detail, strong knowledge of luxury fabrics and garments, and the ability to maintain impeccable standards at all times.
The ideal candidate will have previous experience working within a UHNW private household, luxury residence, boutique hotel or similarly high-end environment and will take great pride in delivering a flawless laundry and wardrobe-care service.
Key Responsibilities
- Laundry Management: Manage the family’s complete laundry requirements from collection and sorting through to washing, drying, pressing, folding and putting away.
- Luxury Garment Care: Demonstrate excellent knowledge of delicate, luxury and designer fabrics, including cashmere, silk, linen and wool.
- Stain Removal: Identify and treat stains appropriately using safe and effective techniques while protecting the integrity of each garment.
- Pressing & Ironing: Professionally iron and press clothing, linens and other household textiles to an exceptionally high standard.
- Wardrobe Care: Maintain the organisation and presentation of the family’s clothing, ensuring garments are returned to the appropriate wardrobes, closets and storage areas.
- Dry Cleaning: Coordinate dry-cleaning requirements, including preparing items for collection, checking returned garments and ensuring everything is correctly stored.
- Linen Management: Maintain household linens, towels, bedding and other textiles, ensuring appropriate rotation and presentation.
- Seasonal Wardrobe: Assist with seasonal wardrobe changes, packing, unpacking and appropriate storage of clothing and accessories.
- Repairs & Alterations: Identify garments requiring repairs, alterations or specialist treatment and coordinate with trusted tailors, seamstresses and specialist cleaners.
- Inventory: Maintain awareness of household laundry and linen inventories and advise when replacements or additional items are required.
- Packing: Assist with packing and unpacking clothing and personal items for family travel when required.
- Household Team: Work discreetly and collaboratively with the wider household team, maintaining excellent communication and professional standards.
- Confidentiality: Handle the family’s personal belongings with the highest level of discretion, care and confidentiality.
Candidate Requirements
- Proven experience as a Laundress within a private UHNW household, luxury residence, five-star hotel or similarly high-end environment.
- Exceptional knowledge of luxury fabrics, designer clothing and specialist garment-care techniques.
- Highly skilled in ironing, pressing, folding, steaming and stain removal.
- Strong understanding of laundry equipment, detergents and appropriate washing and drying techniques.
- Meticulous attention to detail with exceptionally high standards of presentation.
- Highly organised, efficient and capable of managing a busy household laundry operation independently.
- Experience caring for valuable and delicate garments is essential.
- Professional, discreet and respectful when working within a private family environment.
- Comfortable working as part of a larger household team alongside housekeepers, nannies, chefs and other household staff.
- Flexible and willing to assist with additional household-related duties when required.
- Excellent communication skills and a proactive approach to household service.
- Valid driver’s license preferred.
- Local candidates preferred / candidates must be able to reliably commute to the family’s residence.
