We are seeking an experienced, reliable and trustworthy Housekeeper / Cook to join a private household in Marylebone, London, where the principals will shortly be taking up residence.
The property is a three-bedroom home occupied by two principals, and the successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the property to a high standard, alongside preparing fresh, enjoyable meals each day.
A genuine passion for cooking, particularly Indian cuisine, is essential. While professional chef-level experience is not required, the ability to confidently prepare lunch and dinner, with an appreciation for authentic Indian cooking, is highly desirable. The role may occasionally involve cooking for guests.
Key Responsibilities
- High-End Housekeeping: Maintaining the property to an excellent standard, ensuring all rooms and living spaces are clean, tidy and beautifully presented.
- Laundry and Ironing: Managing all household laundry, ironing and clothing care with attention to detail.
- Cooking: Preparing fresh, daily lunches and dinners, with a particular emphasis on Indian cuisine.
- Meal Planning: Organising meals and ensuring the principals' preferences and dietary requirements are catered for.
- Guest Hospitality: Occasionally preparing meals for guests and assisting with related household requirements.
- General Household Management: Ensuring the home runs smoothly and that the principals' needs are consistently met.
Candidate Requirements
The ideal candidate will be:
- Experienced in high-end private housekeeping, ideally within a private household.
- Confident preparing a variety of dishes, particularly Indian cuisine.
- Passionate about cooking and comfortable preparing two meals per day.
- Reliable, discreet, trustworthy and highly organised.
- Detail-oriented, with pride in maintaining a home to an exceptional standard.
- Flexible and adaptable, with a proactive approach to household responsibilities.
- Hindi-speaking, preferably, although this is not essential.
Essential Requirements
- A valid DBS check.
- Positive, verifiable references from previous employers.
- A proven track record of reliability, professionalism and discretion.
Location: Marylebone, London
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am–5:00pm, and Saturday, 10:00am–3:00pm
Salary: £45,000 gpa
