An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Nanny / Housekeeper to join a lovely private family of five based in New York City.
This is a varied, hands-on position combining housekeeping responsibilities with childcare and family assistant duties. The role will be primarily housekeeping-focused, with additional responsibility for supporting the family's children, particularly one child who will require more dedicated attention due to their schedule.
Working alongside an existing Housekeeper and Butler, the successful candidate will be someone who is flexible, organised and happy to turn their hand to different tasks throughout the day.
Responsibilities
- Supporting the daily housekeeping requirements of the residence, maintaining excellent standards throughout.
- Assisting the existing household team with cleaning, tidying, laundry and general household organisation.
- Providing childcare support, primarily between 3pm and 7pm.
- Managing school pick-ups and transporting children to extracurricular activities and classes.
- Organising and hosting playdates, ensuring the children are entertained and well cared for.
- Assisting with children's schedules, appointments and general family logistics.
- Supporting with family PA-style duties and day-to-day errands when required.
- Working closely with the existing household team to ensure the smooth running of the residence.
Candidate Requirements
- Previous experience working within a private household, ideally in a combined Nanny / Housekeeper or Family Assistant position.
- Confident and experienced working with children, with a warm, caring and engaging personality.
- Strong housekeeping skills and excellent attention to detail.
- Highly organised, proactive and comfortable managing multiple responsibilities.
- Flexible, adaptable and happy to assist wherever needed.
- Professional, discreet and able to work effectively as part of an established household team.
- Must already be based in New York City and have the legal right to work in the USA.
- Valid driving licence preferred.
