Overview
A lovely family in Manhattan is seeking a temp nanny to join their nanny team for 3 months caring for their 2-year-old and 4-year-old children. The position has the option to extend to full-time/permanent after 3 months. The general schedule will be Thursday-Saturday, 8am-8pm, with the optional overtime to make it 40 hours or greater. This position starts ASAP and is only open to candidates who are currently local to NYC or within a standard commute. The family is prioritizing candidates who are bilingual, English and Spanish!
Responsibilities
- Full childcare, caring for the children's health, well-being, and education, while also being playful and creating an engaging environment.
- Maintaining the schedule and routine, planning active and engaging activities
- Planning age-appropriate and developmental activities, play dates, and outings to keep kids engaged and off screens during the day
- Coordinating schedules for naps and meals, activities, and travel
- Preparing snacks and meals
- Managing the tidiness and organization of child spaces and belongings
- Child-related light housekeeping when needed
- Coordinating with the other nanny to create cohesive and consistent care
Qualifications
- Someone who can engage the kids in STEM activities
- Knowledge of, or fluent in, Spanish is ideal
- Someone with really high energy - the kids are always dancing and running, must be able to keep up
- Experienced
- Someone who has the balance of bubbly/energetic, and calm/centered
- Creative
- Able to follow the parents philosophies
- Experience potty training toddlers
- Positive attitude
- Spanish and English speaking
Requirements
- Must have at least 6 years of professional nanny experience with references
- Team player with excellent communication
- Able to follow the family’s preferred communication and parenting style
- Must be reliable, dedicated, and have a strong work ethic
- Spanish speaking ideal
- Infant/child CPR and First-Aid certified, or willing to certify
- Legal to work in the US
Salary and Benefits
- Hourly rate is $35-$50, based on experience
