Overview
A loving family of four is seeking a full-time nanny to care for their two-year-old twins in Midtown, NYC. This position is currently temporary, until January 2026, but there is a possibility that it could become a long-term role. The desired schedule is 8am-6pm, but the family is also open to a 9am start or 5pm end for the right candidate. The family is hoping to find a developmentally aware and NYC savvy nanny with twin or multiple toddler experience, who is comfortable getting the children out and about in the city.
Responsibilities
- Care of children, including meal, sleep, and hygiene routines
- Accompanying children to scheduled classes and activities throughout the week (walking, subway, and bus travel)
- Organization of children's areas, and keeping common areas tidy
- Children's laundry as needed
- Toy rotation and keeping track of needed supplies
- Some basic child-related meal preparation (mom generally enjoys cooking for the children)
Qualifications
- Proactive in researching and facilitating playdates, outings, and activities
- Gentle and patient, with focus on helping children to communicate about and navigate their emotions
- Engaging and creative in planning activities in the home
- Knowledgeable about childhood development
- Familiarity with Montessori and Reggio Emilia methods, with emphasis on child-led exploration and respecting independent time and play
Requirements
- US work authorization
- Experience with twins, or caring for multiple toddlers simultaneously
- Generally pro-vaccine, ideally comfortable with an annual flu vaccine
