Overview
A warm, kind family of four in the West Village are seeking a superlative child-friendly housekeeper, ideally starting May 1st. The family have a 1 year old and 7-month old. They are moving to a new property (6000 square foot, 5 beds, 5.5. baths, gym, office, kitchen) in May 2025. The candidate’s schedule will be 8-9 hours per day (e.g. 9am-6pm), Monday through Friday. The candidate’s primary responsibility will be maintaining the home to a 5-star hotel standard, along with laundry (primarily for the parents), relieving the nannies during the day for 3-4 hours (who each work a schedule of 7 days on/ 7 days off) and basic food prep, when time allows.
Responsibilities
- Housekeeping to a 5-star hotel standard (60% of the role)
- Laundry, primarily for the parents (the nannies generally keep on top of laundry for the children)
- Watching the children when the nannies take a nap/ break for 3-4 hours per day - this often happens when the children take their own naps. The priority is keeping them safe - there is no additional need or expectation to plan specific/ developmental activities for them.
- If time permits, it would be wonderful if the candidate could cook a few very basic dishes each week or follow a recipe provided by the parents.
Qualifications
- Must have at least 5 years' verifiable experience
- Must have superlative references
Requirements
- US passport, Green Card or EAC
- Passport ready and willing to travel, if ever required (e.g. if one of the nannies is sick)
- Available to start May 1st
Salary and Benefits
- $40-$45/hr
- $6,000 per year HRA
- All food expenses covered when on duty
- Travel reimbursement ($250/month)
