Overview
A busy, HNW family on the Upper East Side is seeking an active, experienced and organised live-out weekend nanny to care for two children, aged 4-years and 5-years. Expect a 7am-7pm schedule, on Saturdays and Sundays, and there is likely to be some weekend travel and babysitting required. The family is looking for a someone to start as soon as possible.
Responsibilities
The family are looking for an enthusiastic, happy, kind and energetic nanny who is organised and flexible. Responsibilities will include:
- All nursery duties relating to the two children
- Meal and snack preparation, focusing on healthy, nutritious food (please note that the little girl is on a strict dairy-free diet and needs daily medication)
- Children's laundry and ironing
- Occasional household errands, including grocery shopping
- Accompanying the children to any activities and taking them on fun outings, adventures and to cultural events
- Preparation for travel- packing, planning and scheduling activities, and general coordination, and accompanying the family if they go away for the weekend
- Supporting the children in their current routines
- Encouraging good manners, and respectful, kind behavior
- Ensuring the physical, emotional and social needs of the children are met, and that the home and their general environment is supportive, happy, and fun
Requirements
- A confident driver would be preferred, but isn't essential
- The family have a small dog and so candidates must be pet-friendly
- The nanny should also be flexible and open to regular weekend travel with the family, as well as some proxy parenting when required
- Candidates should be organized and professional, while also warm and friendly
- Considerate, proactive, full of initiative and with strong communication skills
- Previous experience with similar aged children and in a fully staffed household essential
