Overview
A kind and travel loving multi-generational family seeks an exceptional live-out rotational nanny to join their household staff team. This role will primarily focus on caring for a 3-year-old and 8-month-old baby. The position begins immediately upon finding the right candidate. The general daily schedule will be wake up to bedtime with an "on call" 24/7 mindset required during the shift. The position will be live-out while at home base though there will be some overnights needed. The nannies will work on a 14-day rotation, with flexibility needed for longer travel during the holidays and over the summer. The travel schedule can change last-minute, so the family needs a nanny who can adapt to changes. The parents hope to find a true career professional who can engage their children in developmentally appropriate and educational activities.
Responsibilities
- Create a warm, nurturing environment while maintaining appropriate boundaries
- Plan and facilitate developmentally appropriate activities and educational experiences
- Research and coordinate local adventures and outings for enrichment
- Provide transportation to activities (excellent driving skills required)
- Adapt to caring interchangeably for different ages
- Children's laundry and general tidying up of playroom, children's bedrooms, etc.
- Children's dishes
- Some meal prep and cooking for the children though typically this is just reheating or plating already prepared food
Qualifications
- Career professional nanny able to handle both children solo
- Excellent understanding of child development milestones and age-appropriate activities.
- Proven ability to work in a team environment with multiple staff members
- No ego - willing to help wherever needed while maintaining professional boundaries.
- Excellent social skills, ability to read the room. Positive, proactive attitude
- Organizational prowess and attention to detail, very precise. Excellent time management.
- Very tech-savvy (comfortable with Baby Connect, Google Calendar, scheduling apps)
- Adaptable problem-solver who thrives in dynamic environments
- Grounded and practical approach to childcare. The parents like Dr. Becky and a more respectful and firm parenting style (not permissive)
- The parents are active and involved, so you must know when to fade in and out of the background while staying busy.
Requirements
- Must already be local to the Bay Area
- Driver's license and clean driving record
- Able to travel domestic and international
- Professional who knows how to maintain boundaries and able to navigate a fully-staffed house
- Easy going personality, able to roll with changes, and adapt quickly to different environments
- Infant/child CPR and First-Aid certifications (or be willing to update them ASAP)
- Trustline certified, or willing to certify
- No animal allergies and comfortable being around animals including farm animals (horses, etc.) No pet care required.
- Legal to work in the US
Salary and Benefits
Hourly pay that is $130k annualized
