A warm, discreet, and highly organized Personal Assistant / House Manager is needed for a HNW family in Santa Barbara. This role is part of a small household team and involves hands-on support, property coordination, and family logistics. The ideal candidate is mid-level in experience, capable, tech-savvy, communicative, and willing to jump in wherever needed. This is a long-term position that requires trust, flexibility, and excellent judgment.
The PA/House Manager will oversee daily household operations, manage vendors and property needs, support family scheduling and logistics, and provide practical hands-on help including occasional childcare-related transport. The role combines administrative, organizational, and personal support tasks, ensuring smooth functioning across properties and family life.
Role Responsibilities
- Manage daily operations across three properties, including maintenance schedules, vendor coordination, and household systems.
- Supervise contractors, maintenance techs, landscapers, and service providers.
- Track and manage household inventories, supplies, and purchasing needs.
- Provide personal assistance to the couple: scheduling, errands, task management, travel prep.
- Support children’s logistics including occasional school pick-ups, carpools, and activity transportation.
- Coordinate dog care needs such as appointments and supply management.
- Maintain family and property calendars; communicate clearly with all parties.
- Assist with travel planning, packing/unpacking, event prep, and ad hoc family support.
- Troubleshoot basic tech issues and coordinate with IT support when needed.
- Support expense tracking, receipts, and household administrative organization.
- Uphold strict confidentiality and exercise sound judgment at all times.
Candidate Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in a private household or HNW support role (PA, House Manager, Family Assistant, etc.).
- Strong organizational skills with excellent follow-through and time management.
- Professional communicator capable of both warm family interaction and corporate-style clarity.
- Tech-savvy: proficient with calendars, cloud systems, shared drives, and household management tools.
- Comfortable in a hands-on role with minimal staff support.
- Flexible, adaptable, and calm under pressure.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Ability to pass full background and reference checks (required).
- Comfortable working around children and pets; able to assist with occasional physical tasks.
- Already based at a commutable distance (the family will not consider candidates willing to relocate).
