Overview
A kind family in Walnut Creek with two working parents is looking for a true professional nanny to help with their 4-month-old baby. The role will begin February 2026. The schedule will be Monday through Thursday from 7am-6:30pm and Fridays 7am-4pm. The parents work on-site Monday through Thursday and from home on Fridays. The first two weeks will be part-time as the parents transition back to work after parental leave. They hope to have a positive, collaborative long-term arrangement with a nanny and believe people bring their best to work when they are treated with respect.
Responsibilities
- Overall infant care (bottles/feeding, sleep routine, diapering, activities)
- Need to be comfortable taking the baby outside daily for walks and eventually to parks and classes when age appropriate
- Prepare meals and snacks as the baby grows
- Keep child’s areas tidy and organized
- Child laundry
- Help manage inventory of baby supplies (wipes, diapers, etc.)
- Light child related housekeeping to maintain organized common spaces
Qualifications
- Knowledge of child development/ages and stages. The family hopes to incorporate a screen-free environment and follow baby-led curiosity and exploration. The parents are looking for a true expert, someone who will help buy toys and supplies when needed, make recommendations based on upcoming milestones, etc.
- The parents are active and involved including working from home sometimes, so you must know when to fade in and out of the background while staying busy.
- The successful candidate will be proactive, loving, and dependable.
- Willingness to travel (not required)
Requirements
- Candidate must live within commuting distance of Walnut Creek
- Valid driver's license, clean driving record, and reliable transportation. Mileage will be reimbursed at the current IRS rate
- Must love dogs as the family has 3 friendly 35 lb dogs
- The ideal candidate must have at least five years of infant experience, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work as a team with the parents
- Tech savvy: primary communication with parents will be via text, sharing photos, using a shared BabyCenter app, etc.
- Current CPR/First Aid certification, or willingness to recertify. Safety is non-negotiable.
- TrustLine registered, or willing to register
- Legal to work in the US
- Up to date TDap vaccine and willing to get yearly Flu and COVID vaccines
Salary and Benefits
Hourly pay $40+ plus applicable overtime
