Live-in Housekeeper
Location: Hertfordshire
Salary: £40,000 – £45,000 per annum
Working Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm
Flexibility required when the Principals are in residence, including longer hours and occasional weekends (approximately one weekend per month)
Accommodation: Large, recently refurbished one-bedroom private basement flat (with windows)
Overview
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Live-in Housekeeper to join a prestigious private estate in Hertfordshire. This role is ideal for a professional housekeeper with strong private household experience, exceptional attention to detail, and a discreet, service-driven approach.

Role Responsibilities
- Maintain immaculate cleanliness and organisation throughout the residence
- Care for fine furnishings, antiques, and artwork, reporting maintenance issues
- Laundry and wardrobe management, including linens and household textiles
- Manage cleaning supplies and oversee household inventory
- Assist with errands, guest reception, and liaising with contractors
- Operate household security and alarm systems confidently
- Clean and maintain additional properties, including a London apartment and estate buildings
- Coordinate with the gardening team, including the use of fresh estate produce
- Provide occasional cooking support when the Principals are in residence
Candidate Requirements
- Proven experience in a private or formal household environment
- Excellent attention to detail and high presentation standards
- Experience handling delicate furnishings, antiques, and artwork
- Highly organised, reliable, and discreet
- Professional communicator with a flexible and proactive mindset
- Comfortable working extended hours when required
- Cooking experience beneficial but not essential
