Our clients, a discreet and internationally based family, are seeking an experienced and professional Live-in Housekeeper to join their household team at their large private residence in Ascot.
This position is to work alongside an existing Housekeeper, ensuring the smooth, efficient, and high-standard running of the home. The family reside at the property for approximately three months of the year, often with only one or two family members in residence at any given time. There are no young children currently living in the household. The role would suit someone flexible, organised, and comfortable working in a quiet, low-occupancy private home.
Key Responsibilities (including but not limited to):
- Full housekeeping duties to a high standard, including cleaning, tidying, and maintaining all living areas
- Working collaboratively with the other Housekeeper to ensure consistency and efficiency across the household
- Laundry and wardrobe management, including washing, ironing, steaming, and careful handling of delicate items
- Running household errands and ensuring the property is fully stocked, including groceries, cleaning supplies, and household essentials
- Light family cooking and basic meal preparation when required
- Assisting with pet care for the family’s small dog (a dog walker is employed; however, occasional support may be required)
- Preparing the property before the family’s arrival and maintaining standards during and after their stay
- Supporting the household during family visits and ensuring discretion and professionalism at all times
- There may be occasional travel with the family to their main country of residence, so flexibility and a valid passport are essential
Candidate Requirements:
- Proven experience working within private households
- Strong understanding and practical use of the English language
- Reliable, proactive, and able to work both independently and as part of a team
- High attention to detail and pride in maintaining a well-organised home
- Due to the location, a full driving licence and access to your own car is highly desirable
Working Hours:
- 6 days per week
- 8 hours per day
- Flexibility is required; however, working hours may be reduced or more relaxed during periods when the family are not in residence.
Accommodation:
- Self-contained bedroom with en-suite, located on the top floor of the house
- Shared staff kitchen and living area
- The other Housekeeper is accommodated on the lower floor, ensuring privacy for both staff members
