Role: Head Housekeeper
Location: Windsor Park, Surrey
Salary: Competitive – Dependent on experience
Hours: 8:00am – 4:00pm, 5 days per week with 2 consecutive days off
(Overtime during summer months, when principals are in residence, compensated with time off in lieu)

A prestigious private estate near Windsor Park is seeking an experienced Head Housekeeper to lead a small household team and maintain the property to the highest standards. The estate comprises a large main residence, multiple guest suites, staff areas, and several outbuildings. Job Description
The Head Housekeeper is central to the smooth operation of the estate, responsible for managing all aspects of household cleanliness, organisation, and staff management. This role involves overseeing daily housekeeping tasks, supervising the team, maintaining inventories, and ensuring the residence operates efficiently and to the highest standards. The Head Housekeeper will report directly to the Estate Director and coordinate with other departments as needed.
Key Responsibilities
Maintaining Cleanliness and Order
- Ensure all areas of the estate are maintained to the highest standards of hygiene and presentation
- Develop and implement cleaning schedules and standard operating procedures
- Oversee deep cleaning projects and maintenance tasks, planning to minimise disruption
- Monitor work in progress and inspect completed tasks for quality
Staff Management
- Recruit, hire, train, and manage housekeeping staff
- Assign daily tasks and workloads to optimise efficiency
- Resolve staff issues, provide guidance, and maintain a positive team environment
- Conduct quarterly performance appraisals
Inventory and Supply Management
- Manage inventories of cleaning supplies, linens, and equipment
- Order consumables and ensure stock levels are maintained
- Ensure all equipment is properly maintained and operational
Communication and Coordination
- Communicate effectively with household staff, the family, and other departments
- Coordinate with grounds, maintenance, and other estate teams to ensure smooth operations
- Maintain a professional and positive demeanour at all times
Other Duties
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
- Assist with household tasks as required
Candidate Requirements
Essential:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Head Housekeeper in a private HNW home or luxury hotel environment
- Excellent spoken and written English
- Proven leadership skills and experience managing teams
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to maintain discretion and professionalism
Desirable:
- Full UK driving licence
- Valet and service experience
