Overview
A family in Brooklyn near Grand Army Plaza is seeking a part-time nanny to work alongside and directly support their long-term full-time nanny. This role functions as a collaborative partner, helping manage busy afternoons, school pickups, activities, meals, and evening routines.
The family has three children: a newborn, 4-year-old, and a 5.5-year-old. Both older children attend school and have active afternoons that require strong logistics and coordination. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys teamwork, clear communication, and supporting a well-established caregiving structure.
The schedule will be Monday through Wednesday from 2:30pm to 7:00pm, Thursday from 2:30pm to 8:30pm, and Friday from 2:30pm to 5:30pm. The family is ideally looking for someone to start by mid-March and anticipates this being a long-term role.
Responsibilities
Work collaboratively with the full-time nanny to ensure consistent care and communication.
Assist with school pickups from two different schools.
Support afternoon logistics, including activities, transitions, and schedules.
Prepare simple, child-friendly meals and snacks.
Engage children in homework support, imaginative play, and arts and crafts.
Assist with bathing and bedtime routines as needed.
Provide occasional support with newborn care, including feeding and general assistance when current nanny needs to step away momentarily.
Ensure children are prepared and packed for daily activities.
Uphold established routines, boundaries, and safety expectations.
Qualifications
Prior experience working collaboratively with another nanny or caregiver.
Strong organizational skills and comfort managing schedules and logistics.
Enjoys imaginative play, arts and crafts, and engaging children creatively.
Calm, steady presence that complements a more energetic caregiver.
Comfortable supporting gifted and neurodiverse children who benefit from structure and clear boundaries.
Clear communicator who values teamwork and shared responsibility.
Requirements

Comfortable working in a team-based nanny role with direct coordination and communication.
Reliable, punctual, and consistent.
Comfortable navigating a multi-level brownstone with stairs.
Comfortable assisting with newborn care as needed.
