Our client, a private family with a growing portfolio of high-end properties across California, is seeking a seasoned Director of Operations & Hospitality to oversee multiple residences and lead an exceptional team. This is a unique opportunity for a professional with a background in luxury hospitality, superyacht operations, or high-end private estates to step into a role that combines operational leadership with world-class service.
The Role:
You will be the manager of record for all staff, including chefs, estate managers, PAs, housekeepers, and vendors. Your responsibility will be to ensure seamless operations across multiple properties, while maintaining the highest standards of hospitality. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring both strategic oversight and a passion for creating systems, processes, and workflows that keep a complex portfolio running efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage all staff across multiple properties
Oversee day-to-day operations, including HR, vendor management, and budgeting
Develop and implement systems and processes to streamline operations
Ensure exceptional standards of service and hospitality across all locations
Act as the primary operational liaison for the family, providing both strategic and hands-on support
Ideal Candidate:
This would suit someone coming from a purser background within yachting looking to transfer to a land based role.
Proven experience in luxury hospitality, superyacht operations, or private estate management
Strong operational, organizational, and leadership skills
Enjoys building and refining systems to create smooth-running operations
